What is Rotary GSE?

The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40.

The programme provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country’s culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.

This year, District 9930 in New Zealand is paired with District 5050 which covers the United States and Canada. Our team will spend just under six weeks travelling the district, visiting different workplaces and Rotary club and staying with Rotarians in their homes. Our visit ends with the District Conference in Vancouver.

We’ve been told plenty of times that this is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with much to be learned, and many new friendships to be made. We are all hugely grateful to our host clubs and respective employers for their support, to the Rotary Foundation and to everyone in the host district for making this all happen.
